AI Visibility in Poland: How to Get ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to Cite Your Brand in Polish
AI visibility in Poland means being named in the answers ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity give to Polish-language questions. Those answers are assembled almost entirely from Polish-language sources, so a brand with excellent English coverage and nothing in Polish is close to invisible in that market. This page sets out the mechanics, verified Polish media prices in PLN and EUR, and an honest account of what can and cannot be measured.

Why your English coverage does not carry into Polish AI answers
Ask an assistant a question in Polish and you get an answer built from Polish-language material. This is not a policy choice by any vendor, it falls out of how retrieval works: the model matches the language and phrasing of the question against the text it can find, and Polish queries match Polish documents. Your TechCrunch feature and your G2 reviews sit in a different pool.
The practical consequence catches foreign teams off guard. A company can dominate its category in English, rank well on google.pl for its brand name, and still never be mentioned when a Polish procurement manager asks ChatGPT to suggest suppliers. The brand is not being rejected. It is not in the candidate set at all.
The second factor is volume. A Google results page has ten organic slots and a searcher scans several. An assistant answer usually leans on three to five sources and names fewer. Competition for those slots is harsher, but in Poland it is also far less contested, because most local firms are still optimising their own websites and almost none are building the external sources that decide the outcome.

What actually drives brand citations, according to the data
Direct answer: the strongest measured signals sit outside your own website. Ahrefs analysed more than 75,000 brands and correlated their visibility in Google's AI Overviews against a range of signals. Brand mentions across the web came first by a wide margin, and backlinks, the classic SEO currency, came last.
| Signal | Spearman correlation with AI visibility | Where the work happens |
|---|---|---|
| Brand mentions across the web | 0.664 | Off your site |
| Branded anchor text | 0.527 | Off your site |
| Branded search volume | 0.392 | Off your site |
| Domain Rating | 0.326 | Mixed |
| Backlinks | 0.218 | Off your site |
Treat those as correlations rather than proven causes. They still point somewhere useful: three of the top three signals are things other people publish about you, which is precisely what a foreign brand entering Poland has none of.
There is also evidence on how a page should be written to get pulled into a generated answer. A study presented at KDD 2024 by researchers from Princeton, Georgia Tech, the Allen Institute for AI and IIT Delhi tested content edits against generative engines and measured the change in visibility.
| Edit made to the source page | Change in visibility |
|---|---|
| Adding quotations from named people | +41% |
| Adding statistics | +33% |
| Improving fluency | +29% |
| Citing sources | +28% |
| Keyword stuffing | -9% |
Read together, the two studies describe the same page: an external Polish-language article that quotes a named expert from your company and carries a hard number. That is the unit of work.

Check this first: are you blocking the AI crawlers?
Before spending anything, confirm that the engines can read you at all. This is the cheapest possible fix and it is broken more often than teams expect, usually as a side effect of switching on bot protection at the CDN. A blocked crawler ends the conversation before it starts.
| Engine | User agents to allow | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User | Training data and live browsing answers |
| Perplexity | PerplexityBot | Cited sources in answers |
| Google AI Overviews and AI Mode | Googlebot, Google-Extended | Generated answers on google.pl |
| Claude | ClaudeBot, Claude-Web | Training data and retrieval |
| Amazon | Amazonbot | Assistant answers |
Check your robots.txt, then check the bot-management rules at your CDN separately, because the two are configured in different places and a permissive robots.txt tells you nothing about a firewall rule. Also make sure your pages do not carry nosnippet or a restrictive max-snippet directive, which limits how much of your text can be shown.
One thing not worth your time: an llms.txt file. As of early 2026 no major provider has publicly committed to reading it in production. Google has said it does not support it and has no plans to, and OpenAI's crawler documentation points to robots.txt without mentioning llms.txt at all. Perplexity is the sole engine that says it fetches the file. The real cost is a blocked crawler, not a missing file.

Which Polish sources AI assistants actually draw on
Poland has about 38 million people, a news market concentrated in four large portals, and an unusually strong vertical trade press. For a B2B brand the trade titles almost always beat the big portals, because that is where specifics live and specifics are what a model needs in order to say something concrete about you.
| If you sell to | Target titles | Why these |
|---|---|---|
| CFOs and finance teams | Bankier.pl, Forsal.pl, GazetaPrawna.pl | Read for regulatory and market detail, heavily cited in finance answers |
| HR, payroll and tax | Infor.pl, GazetaPrawna.pl | Reference-grade explainers that models quote directly |
| Founders and executives | Forbes.pl, Business Insider Polska, naTemat.pl | Brand authority and strong branded search lift |
| Technical and industrial buyers | Sector trade press | Narrow audience, low competition, high topical match |
A useful test before you commit budget: ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, in Polish, the ten questions a buyer would actually type, and write down which domains get named. That list is your target list. It is usually shorter and less glamorous than the one a media plan would produce.

What Polish-language presence costs
Direct answer: a single sponsored article in a Polish business or financial title runs from 500 PLN to 10,900 PLN net, roughly 116 to 2,530 EUR. Prices below are reseller rates for publishing a ready-made article, verified at source on 15 August 2026. Having the intermediary write the text adds about 200 PLN. Currency conversions use the National Bank of Poland mid rates from table 157/A/NBP/2026 of 14 August 2026 (1 EUR = 4.3100 PLN, 1 USD = 3.7300 PLN), so treat the EUR and USD columns as indicative rather than contractual.
| Title | Profile | PLN net | Approx. EUR | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forbes.pl | Business, premium brand | 10,900 | 2,530 | 2,920 |
| naTemat.pl | General, high reach | 5,700 | 1,320 | 1,530 |
| Bankier.pl | Finance and markets | 4,500 | 1,040 | 1,210 |
| BusinessInsider.com.pl | Business and technology | 3,500 | 810 | 940 |
| rp.pl | Daily, business and law | 2,700 | 630 | 720 |
| RMF24.pl | News, very high reach | 2,699 | 630 | 720 |
| Forsal.pl | Economy and finance | 1,900 | 440 | 510 |
| BiznesGazeta.pl | Small business | 500 | 116 | 134 |
Two observations worth having before you build a plan. First, four titles in the same publishing group sit at 1,900 to 1,999 PLN, so within that band price carries no information and you should choose on topical fit alone. Second, one Forbes.pl placement costs about the same as six to eight trade placements, and for AI visibility the six to eight usually do more, because breadth of mentions is the signal that correlates most strongly.
Paid coverage in Poland is legal and openly priced. Concealing that it is paid is not. Article 36 of the Polish press law requires paid material to be clearly distinguishable from editorial content, and the regulator UOKiK can fine up to 10 percent of annual turnover. The full breakdown of rates, distribution options and disclosure rules sits on our page about digital PR in Poland.

How to measure AI visibility in Polish
Measurement is where most programmes fall apart, because the obvious metrics do not exist. There is no rank tracker for a generated answer and no impressions report from an assistant. What you can do is sample systematically and keep the sampling honest.
- Fix a prompt set. Twenty to forty questions in Polish that your buyers genuinely ask, written once and then left alone. Changing the prompts between rounds destroys comparability, which is the single most common mistake.
- Record who gets named, not just whether you appear. The competitor set is the more useful half of the data and it tells you which sources the model trusts in your category.
- Repeat on a fixed schedule across several engines. Answers vary between runs, so a single check tells you very little and a monthly series tells you a lot.
- Track branded search volume in Poland as a secondary indicator. It correlated at 0.392 in the Ahrefs data and, unlike citations, it is measurable in Search Console.
A tooling category has grown up around this since 2025, with tiered pricing and enterprise contracts. Otterly.AI publishes its rates openly at 29, 189 and 489 USD per month for 15, 100 and 400 tracked prompts, all tiers covering ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Peec AI and Profound are the other names you will meet; neither publishes figures we could verify at source, so we do not quote any. Our own approach to running this as a repeatable measurement rather than a one-off check is described under monitoring widoczności w AI.

How long it takes, and what does not work
Expect a slower curve than paid media. An article has to be written, published, indexed, and then picked up by whatever refresh cycle the engine uses. In practice the first movement in a prompt set shows up somewhere around the third month, and a category where you start from nothing takes longer than one where you are already mentioned occasionally.
Three approaches reliably disappoint, and they are worth naming because they are what most vendors sell.
- Optimising only your own website. Worth doing, cheap, and nowhere near sufficient. When a buyer asks for supplier recommendations, a model rarely builds the answer from the supplier's own marketing pages.
- Buying links on SEO metrics. Link marketplaces select placements by Domain Rating and traffic. That optimises the signal which correlated weakest (0.218) while ignoring topical fit, which is what decides whether a source gets pulled into an answer about your category.
- Translating your English blog. Useful for the website, irrelevant to the mechanism. Translated content still lives on your own domain, and the signals that matter are mentions on domains you do not own.
The honest limit: nobody controls what a model outputs, and any provider promising guaranteed citations is either misunderstanding the system or misrepresenting it. What can be done is to make the sources say the right things about you, and to measure whether the answers change.

Digital PR or AI visibility: which one you need
The two overlap in method and differ in goal, and picking the wrong frame wastes budget. The short version: digital PR asks whether Polish buyers and journalists know you, AI visibility asks whether Polish-language models name you. The same publication can serve both, but the selection criteria and the measurement differ.
| Digital PR in Poland | AI visibility in Poland | |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Reach, credibility, journalist relationships | Being named in generated answers |
| Media selection | Audience size and prestige | Topical match and how often the source is cited |
| Ideal article | Newsworthy, well timed | Quotable, with a named expert and a number |
| Measurement | Placements, reach, referral traffic | Share of a fixed prompt set, branded search |
| Time to effect | Immediate on publication | Roughly three months and upward |
Most foreign brands entering Poland need both and should buy them as one programme, because the publication that impresses a journalist and the publication a model quotes are frequently the same article written with slightly different priorities. If your question is primarily about market entry, media rates and the disclosure regime, start with digital PR in Poland. If it is about being present in AI answers, this page is the right entry point.
Publicysci runs both on a monthly subscription rather than per placement, because both compound and neither works as a one-off. Use the demo above to see who Polish-language assistants currently name in your category, then decide whether the gap is worth closing.
Frequently asked questions
It is how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews name your brand when someone asks a buying question in Polish. Because those answers are assembled from Polish-language sources, visibility in Poland depends on Polish-language coverage rather than on your English press or your global domain authority.
In practice yes. A Polish-language question is matched against Polish-language documents, so a brand with only English coverage is largely outside the candidate set. The content that matters most is on other people's domains, in Polish trade and business media, rather than a translation of your own blog.
The main variable is media placement, which runs from 500 PLN to 10,900 PLN net per article, roughly 116 to 2,530 EUR at the 14 August 2026 National Bank of Poland rate. A programme aiming at breadth typically buys several trade placements rather than one premium title, since mentions across many sources is the signal that correlates most strongly.
Usually around three months before a fixed prompt set shows movement, and longer if you are starting from no Polish coverage at all. Articles have to be published and indexed, then picked up by the engine's refresh cycle. Anyone promising results in weeks is describing paid media, not this.
No, and a guarantee is a reason to walk away. No provider controls model output. What can be influenced is the source material the models read and how quotable it is, and what can be measured is whether the answers to a fixed set of Polish prompts change over time.
Yes, and it is a normal, openly priced part of the Polish market. It must be labelled: Article 36 of the Polish press law requires paid material to be clearly distinguishable from editorial content, and UOKiK can fine up to 10 percent of annual turnover for undisclosed advertorial. Clear labelling also helps rather than hurts credibility with AI engines.
There is no evidence that it does. As of early 2026 no major provider has publicly committed to reading llms.txt in production, Google has said it does not support it, and OpenAI's crawler documentation refers only to robots.txt. Perplexity is the exception. Blocking AI crawlers is the error that actually costs you visibility.
Not to start. Publishers and providers will invoice a foreign company, although some prefer a Polish VAT number for administrative reasons. What you do need is a named spokesperson who can be quoted and content approvals that do not take weeks, since both slow publication more than any legal question does.
